Rokenbok is an educational toy that combines a modular construction system with interactive radio-controlled vehicles. Rokenbok is an expandable system that can be added to and changed over time. What separates Rokenbok from other toy systems is the multiplayer aspects of the radio-controlled vehicles. Up to four players can operate any of up to 8 vehicles simultaneously. There are currently 12 different manufactured vehicles. Players can operate a vehicle by themselves or they can share the vehicle with another player, capable of 4 players at once. Rokenbok is also intended to be non-violent by reinforcing non-violent, cooperative play patterns that engage children in a positive way. Rokenbok also does not utilize licensed characters or cartoons.
Vehicles
The 12 vehicles that are currently manufactured include the RC Skip Track, Power Sweeper, Tower Crane, Dozer, Loader (one is included in the start set), Forklift, Monorail, Elevator, Transgripper and Trailer, Fire truck, Emergency Speedster and, more recently, the Police Defender.
Controls
The Rokenbok Vehicles are controlled through up to four control pads. The control pads consist of three sections, the left contains the directional pads that control the movement of the vehicles. On the center of each control pad is a button in which you press to cycle through availible units and vehicles that can be controlled (Up to 8). Depending on the selected vehicle, the four buttons on the right enable the user from lifting cranes, turning on a siren, or unloading a truck bed.
The control pad has 10 possible commands including X,Y, A, B, left, right, up, down, and left and right top buttons. Only the top buttons and the forward and backward buttons work on all vehicles. The left button on top will go back to the last vehicle you sent a command to, and the right button will make the vehicle go slower than normal speed.
